This weekend saw Cecil Jones students take part in their practice Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expedition. Students hiked 25km over the weekend, navigating their route with all equipment needed carried in their rucksacks. Despite the torrential rain and at some points hail the students never moaned once. They cooked meals on trangias and slept in tents. I look forward to seeing them complete the assessed expedition in June. All year they have been volunteering in charity shops and scout groups, taking part in new physical activities and trying out new skills like photography and singing to complete the other three sections of the Bronze award.
Keep up the hard work!
