A group of 11 Year 9 students have been taking part in the Brilliant Club Scholars Programme on a Wednesday where they work alongside a PhD tutor to gain insight into University level education, whilst learning the skill set necessary for further education. It is structured around seven tutorials, complemented by two trips to highly-selective universities.
Pupils work towards completing a challenging final assignment, which is marked and moderated using university grades. This improves their skills in researching, referencing and using sources critically as well as writing in general to a high standard. Students submit their work on a VLE and receive feedback from their tutor.
This is completely funded by Make Happen who enable us to provide our students with careers advice and opportunities to push their future aspirations.
