Paris 2025: A Journey Through Art, Culture, and Connection

In May half-term, nearly 30 students embarked on an unforgettable journey to Paris – a city steeped in art, history, and architectural grandeur. For some, this was their very first trip abroad, and what unfolded was far more than a sightseeing tour – it was a powerful experience of friendship, curiosity, and cultural discovery.

Stepping into the World’s Greatest Galleries

Our first full day in Paris saw us walking the majestic halls of the Musée d'Orsay, where students stood in awe before works by Van GoghManetCourbet, and Munch. Later, we explored the vast Louvre Museum, encountering treasures of Western and classical art: Leonardo da Vinci’s enigmatic Mona LisaVeronese’s vibrant Wedding at Cana, and dramatic Greek and Roman sculptures like the Venus de Milo and Winged Victory of Samothrace. Wandering through its endless galleries, students experienced first-hand the global legacy of visual storytelling. The journey also had visits to the Musée Rodin, where we traced the expressive forms of Rodin’s The Thinker and The Gates of Hell, set against tranquil sculpture gardens in full bloom.

Exploring Iconic Paris

Beyond the museums, we climbed high above the city to the Sacre-Coeur Basilica in Montmartre, wandered cobbled streets once walked by Picasso and Renoir, and took in breathtaking views of Paris from the Tour Montparnasse. Students marvelled at the sheer scale of the Eiffel Tower, where they lunched beneath its iconic lattice ironwork, and later sailed down the River Seine on a boat tour that offered a magical view of the city by water.

We saw the Arc de Triomphe and its bustling Champs-Élysées, and sharing meals that introduced us to French culture in a hands-on way. And, of course, there was always time for a spirited round of Uno back at the hotel.

More Than Just a Trip

Over the course of four days, students walked over 16,000 to 21,000 steps a day, showing grit, enthusiasm, and boundless curiosity at every turn. What they gained couldn’t be measured in miles or museum visits alone – it was found in the friendships formed, the new foods tried, the laughter shared, and the confidence built from navigating a new country with peers.

Paris May 2025 reminded us that learning can happen anywhere – not just in classrooms, but in galleries, streets, stairwells, and shared moments. We’re so proud of our students for the way they represented our school, embraced the experience, and made memories that will last a lifetime.
