Cecil Jones Academy celebrates bumper year of A-Level success.

Cecil Jones Academy is celebrating a record-breaking year of A-Level results, with students achieving some of the highest outcomes in recent years.

This summer, the percentage of students achieving top grades has risen, with 20.2% securing A*-A grades and 41.9% achieving A*-B grades.

Among the many successful students, Opeoluwa Adewole achieved an outstanding set of results with three A*s, while Ali Kamaly secured two A*s and an A, and Hamza Zeeshan achieved one A and two As*. Other strong performers included Thomas Amour with three As, Szymon Blasiak with two As and two Bs, and Scarlett Bridge with A*, A and B.

The success was widespread, with students excelling across a range of subjects and pathways. Connor Amour achieved A, B and C, Owen Harris celebrated two As and a C, and Chloe Henman secured one A and two Bs. In vocational courses, Ren Porter achieved a superb Distinction* alongside a B and a C.

The day was filled with joy and emotion as students reflected on their journeys. “I can’t believe it,” said Opeoluwa on receiving her results. Chloe added: “I got the email that says I’m in. I don’t know what to say.” Ali Kamaly’s poignant reflection summed up this cohort’s hard work and perseverance: “Fall in love with the process and the grades will chase you.”

Others took the chance to look back on their time at Cecil Jones Academy. Szymon said: “I can’t believe that my time at Cecil is done; I’m grateful for everything.” Erald reflected: “I believed in myself from the start.”

For many, the results were a moment of pride. Scarlett said: “I’m so proud of myself.” Owen shared: “All the hard work paid off,” while Isabelle admitted: “I didn’t get any sleep the night before, and it was worth it!”

Headteacher Richard Micek praised the students’ achievements, saying:

“I’m exceptionally proud of our students. Their hard work and perseverance have truly paid off. This year we have a record number of students securing places at universities with many of these being at top institutions, which is a fantastic achievement and reflection of their commitment and determination.”
