Work Experience 2026
BackFor the first time at Cecil Jones we ran a work experience programme which included our year 10 students alongside the year 12’s and proved to be a very successful event.
We were working in partnership with the BEP Group who were able to set up an online portal which enabled our students to select placements and also confirm that all of the own placements were all safe and secure to attend. The preparation for the placements began back in September which led to an information assembly in December.
Unfortunately, and much to the student’s disappointment, there were some last minute cancellations by employers which were beyond our control. However, on the 8th of June we had 180 of our 217 year 10 students go out to placements and a week later 44 of our 48 year 12’s did the same.
There were some interesting placements from primary schools to Ford Technical Centre, Dunton and charity shops to Queens Park Rangers FC.
The feedback we received for some of our students was amazing with some students offered a welcome back when they reach employable age.
Overall our students had a great experience with many reporting what a brilliant time they had. One student said “ it was amazing, I learnt so much “ and another said “what a brilliant experience, I would never have did any of this without the work experience programme”
Overall, it was a great experience for all those involved.
