Empower Her Workshop

The Empower Her workshop run by Southend United Education launched at Cecil Jones this week. Twenty two Year 8 and 9 girls began discussing the issues young women in society face and the importance of ensuring women feel empowered to make positive changes. The 12-week program will be focused on improving social skills, and learning life lessons. It is an all-female program and will include skill-based and social action planning sessions around mental health, sex education, how to stay active, as well as having discussions about what matters to them within school and the local community. Students will also have to deliver a project which they believe will benefit girls at school and in the local community.

Keep an eye out for the Empower Her project which the students will begin very soon!
