Duke of Edinburgh:

This month, our DofE students are starting to train for their expedition in July. The will have a series of lessons on topics such as campcraft, navigation first aid and cooking to help them prepare for a two-day, one-night trip, where they will have to be self-sufficient for the duration of the expedition.
In order to complete their bronze award, they also have to complete 3 or 6 months of a skill activity, a physical activity and volunteering. Students have been completing activities such as football, dance, drawing, badminton, watercolour painting and playing the piano in order to complete these sections.
The award allows them to develop important skills such as teamwork, resilience, planning, problem solving and self-confidence. These are all skills that will help them in later life and that employers hold in high regard.
